BOTTOM is:
VOLUME ADDICT, GUITARZAN & VOX : SINA
LOW TONES : NILA
BATTERY : CLEMENTINE
LIVE RIFFAGE : GRETCHEN
Lead by siren mosh-heads, BOTTOM's neck-thrashing metal is built on riffs that are heavier than Hell itself. Originally hailing from New York City's deep Lower East Side and sexier than Satan, the all-femme rock-outfit continues to raise hell and is proud to unveil their newest LP you'rNext on Small Stone Records.
You'rNext is BOTTOM's most experimental release to date featuring voluminous feedback passages as well as the unexpected violin, trumpet and flute embedded in rock tracks. You'rNext is a dark folktale that twists and turns like an old saw wiseacre then digs into your head like a ritual from the Book of the Dead. Delivered with all the subtlety of the Grim Reaper, you'rNext tells a gypsy lie using minor chords, soul piercing howls and guitar tones that circle like ravenous buzzards.
BOTTOM's debut, Made in Voyage, was recorded in NYC, produced by Greg Gordon (engineer for Slayer, Helmet, and Public Enemy) and released in 1999 on the band's label Mudflap Records. Their second long player, Feels So Good When You're Gone, was co-produced by Billy Anderson (Mr. Bungle, Neurosis, Sleep). After the fall of Mans Ruin Records, "Feels
" was re-issued by Lee Dorian's UK label Rise Above Records. Spinning a sinister tale in a glamorous Apocalypse, Feels so Good When You're Gone is thick with monster riffs, killer hooks and simultaneously makes your ears bleed while your doomed heart leaps with joy.
Originally escaping as a trio from NYC in 1999, BOTTOM relocated to San Francisco and has kept busy, not only adding a second guitarist for live shows but also firing up a side project playing Zeppelin called Zepparella.
Van-vagabonds, BOTTOM has played over 1000 shows stateside since 1999 carving a new world order for DIY-touring bands: playing 300 shows a year, taking no prisoners, and destroying a new town every night. Notorious road queens BOTTOM invaded Europe in 2002, and spent a summer cranking out a daily double-header with a crushing 70 shows in 40 odd days: tearing up the 2001 Vans' WARPed Tour by day and headlining a club tour after dark. Visit www.BottomMusic.com for current tour information.
BOTTOM's explosive live show has devoured venues from Vancouver to Croatia, sharing stages with hundreds of rock-outfits including: AFI, AlabamaThunderPussy, AlienAntFarm, AcidKing, Backyard Babies, BellRays, Black Halos, Blessing the Hogs, Buzzov*n, Buckcherry, Cannibal Corps, Candy Snatchers, Crisis, Cosmic Psychos, Electric Wizard, The Fall, Everlast, Drivin'n'Cryin', H2O, Hank Williams Jr. III, Heroine Sheiks, High On Fire, HonkyToast, Hirax, Jucifer, Joey Ramone and the Independents, Leadfoot, Lenny Kaye, Ludicra, Lunachicks, Nashville Pussy, Nile, Mike Watt, Misfits, MonsterMagnet, Murphy's Law, Nebula, Pansy Divison, PigmyLoveCircus, PORN, Raging Slab, Rancid, Rollins Band, Speedealer, Spirit Caravan, Suicide Kings, Step Kings, 60 Watt Shaman, 311, Toilet Boys, Trouble, and The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, Unida, YOB and more.
